Archive your Drupal website with HTML Export and MAMP
Submitted by Hagen Graf on 21. February 2010 - 15:18Sometimes we have the challenge to archive an older Drupal website. It is not necessary to have a fully functional interactive archive. For that reason I tried the module HTML Export.
The idea is simple: The module creates a html page for every Drupal page which is visible for a guest.
If you have a multisite installation with a multilingual drupal it's a bit more complicated, because HTML Export doesn't work well with these things :-( I haven't found a real solution for everything but I did the following:

Enough - John Naish
Submitted by Hagen Graf on 12. December 2009 - 17:25The book has a simple mission
realize when it is enough
- stop working when it is enough
- stop eating when it is enough
- stop consuming when it is enough
- stop YOU-NAME-IT when it is enough
My problem is sometimes to notice when it is enough.
It is this kind of cycle: more work -> more money -> more needs -> more things .... you know it.

DrupalCamp Vienna
Submitted by Hagen Graf on 12. December 2009 - 15:51
Sorry for the delay between the event and the post :-) too much work.
Nov 27th, 8:30
Coming from the warm Gerone/Spain I arrived a bit late. I used my chance being in Vienna to look for an cast iron spiral staircase for our house. This shop has wonderful staircases but they know also how to make money - 7.500 € + taxes + transportation.
10:30
I arrived at the registration desk in the wonderful main building of Technische Universität, bought the cool Kaiser T-Shirt and got a cup of coffee from a strange drupalized coffee machine.
DrupalCamp Italia, Crema
Submitted by Hagen Graf on 12. December 2009 - 13:10
6:00 I leave the hotel in Milano. The day before I walked through Milano and was impressed. I have to come back for a closer look. See pictures. The Metro in Milano opens at 6am. I miss the bus at 7am. It is sooo cold and icy. I take the 7:45 bus to Crema. The distance between Crema and Milano is only 50 km but the bus stopped at EVERY busstop so it takes me 1.5 hours.
9:30 I arrive at the university campus in Crema. The Dipartimento di Tecnologie dell'informazione is a part of the university of Milano.

Joomladay Italia in Rome
Submitted by Hagen Graf on 24. November 2009 - 11:30
- November 21th, 2009 - 9:00 am
As I have heard and seen so far, JoomlaDay Italia is one of the biggest Joomla events in the whole world together with the Dutch and the Thai Joomladays.
Alexred and ste and their team did an incredibly good job here.
The venue belongs to Fondazione Santa Lucia and is perfect, the entrance is free.
The room is filling up - there is Italian rock music in the background.
The spirit here reminds me 5 minutes to DrupalCon Washington in March 2009.
The sessions will be streamed live on the Internet (hope that works - it worked).
I do a session to (building a template from scratch).
The only thing which I really miss is a working internet connection for the public (like me).
That's a pity because it is not possible for me to send tweets, status updates and other bits and pieces in real time.
Another thing is, that I forgot my camera and camcorder at home (old boy ... brain is definitely shrinking).
Good opportunity to try the gallery feature in flickr (gosh ... I forgot, no Internet access).
More and more people entering the room. It is equipped with four projectors which looks very impressive.
I am 5 minutes at the entrance together with ste and others to welcome guests.

Node references - the module node relationships
Submitted by Hagen Graf on 16. August 2009 - 14:27
I often have the problem to visualize relationships between nodes. Sometimes I use blocks in views with parameters, sometimes I embed views in node templates and so on. Another problem is often the kind of relationship between nodes. Sometimes they have a relationship vice versa, sometimes not. But I don't want to bother you with these things ...
The reason why I am writing this entry is, that I have found a good module helping me to get my job done: noderelationships.
The Task: Who is doing what with whom?
We have three actors: persons, partners and projects
We want to have a website with a few relationships

A quick view on Joomla! 1.6.0 Alpha [hope]
Submitted by Hagen Graf on 7. July 2009 - 14:59Joomla! 1.5 was released Jan 22, 2008.
One and a half year later, Joomla!1.6.0 Alpha - Codename [hope] appears on the horizon (download area Joomla 1.6). Since June 23th Joomla! 1.6 Alpha was downloaded 9,500 times (as of July 2nd). The 9,500 downloads comprise of 8,000 in zip format, 1,000 in tar.gz format and 500 in tar.bz2 format. Zip seems to be the most popular format. Many open source projects rely on the tar.gz format (f.e. Drupal) and limit with this decision unnecessary there downloads. In this case Joomla! is a good example of user friendly behaviour!
What's already new in Joomla 1.6 Alpha[hope]?

Market in Saint-Laurent-de-la-Salanque
Submitted by Hagen Graf on 5. July 2009 - 17:02
Today it's Sunday and we visit the Saint-Laurent-de-la-Salanque market. It spreads over the whole city center.
Here you can find all the goodies of Languedoc region, f.e. saucisson, brebis, olives, tapenade, vine, fruits and vegetables.
You should have bought everything you need till 10:00 clock. Thereafter, the market is full of people and you are doing well in engaging in one of the little street cafes to sit down and watch the hustle and bustle.
