Session - Installation Profiles
After too many days of work building installation profiles in Drupal, I decided to give a session about this interesting topic.
Installation Profiles
I am curious, wether people like the idea. If you are interested in installation profiles, write a comment with the point you want to hear in that session.

Joomla! in Ankara, Turkey
May, 16th we gave a training in Ankara at DIKEMN ENDÜSTRI MESLEK SCHOOL. Their website is made with Joomla! and the students are very interested in this CMS and the possibilities (even when it is not the main topic at that school).
They only spoke turkish but we had a wonderful translator from english to turkish and vice versa. After around one hour there were no more problems with understanding, because of the international topics like HTML, CSS, PHP, Apache, Joomla!, ...
I have taken a few pictures in the break and in the classroom

Building Websites with Joomla! 1.5 (2008)
This book takes a practical step-by-step approach of teaching the installation and configuration of Joomla! 1.5, customizing it, creating your templates and extensions, and finally, building your own website.
In Detail
Joomla! started as a fork from Mambo in 2005, when many of the original developers of the Mambo CMS moved to working on Joomla! It has rapidly grown in popularity and, according to its own description, is a "Cutting Edge Content Management System and one of the most powerful Open Source Content Management systems in the world. It is used world-wide for anything from simple homepages to complicated corporate websites. It is easy to install, easy to manage and very reliable."
While the Joomla! CMS has the flexibility and power needed for complex, full-featured web applications, it is also simple to use to create basic websites. Its powerful, extensible template system can deal many different data types and control of user access, approval of content, scheduling of content display, and rich administrative controls are all included.
Approach
This book takes the reader through the tasks essential to create a Joomla! website as rapidly as possible. The necessary tasks are explained with clear step-by-step instructions. The author’s chatty and engaging style makes this book very readable.
Who this book is written for
This book is suitable for web developers, designers, webmasters, content editors, and marketing professionals who want to develop a website in a simple and straightforward process. It does not require any detailed knowledge of programming or web development, and any IT-confident individual will be able to use the book to produce an impressive website.
Presentation and Public Speaking
January 2008
I gave a two days workshops for PhD-students at Kassel University which wanted to improve their presentation skills. Main topics were the structure and design of presentations and speeches and controlling of body language. A Real Publisher in a Virtual World
August 2007
With the realisation of a company presence in Second Life for a German publishing group, we have extended the opportunities of on-line marketing for the company.
All offers of the publishing house are available on a daily basis in Second Life and are connected with the publishing company websites.
Visitors at the Second Life property can browse through the offers and can get information about new books and DVDs. Inquiries from Second Life reach directly the responsible assistants of the publishing companies; here, authors will introduce new publications and some books are also available for download as a PDF.
All offers of the publishing group are generated automatically on a daily basis via data bank queries, a manual administration is therefore not necessary.
The design of the property, based on an idea of the publishing group, was realised by Ruth Prantz.

Building Websites with Joomla! 1.5 Beta 1
Joomla 1.5 is an improved version of the Joomla Content Management System, which is one of the leading Open-source CMSes. While still in its Beta 1 version, Joomla! 1.5 is still as easy to use as its earlier stable version, but with substantial improvements. Joomla! 1.5 implements the core requirements of a full-featured CMS. It has a powerful and extensible templating system with the ability to upload and manage many different data types. User access control, content approval, rich administrative control, and content display scheduling are all built-in. New features and extensions are constantly added to the core system, with many more being available and supported by the community.
From installation, to initial set up and content entry, and then on to customization for your own look and feel, this book will help you get a working Joomla! based website fast. You will also learn to build your own template and extension.
You don’t have to be an experienced web developer or designer to get a great looking site with a full set of functions using this book and Joomla! This book will guide through every step. The book takes a practical approach of teaching how to install and configure Joomla! 1.5, customizing it, creating your templates and extensions, and finally building your own website.

Seminar and Training Administration
July 2007
We developed an online administration system based on Drupal 5.2 for the Swiss seminar and training provider mentalpower.ch.
All data for the seminars exist in text documents.
The seminars are partly composed of different training modules, which are based on each other.
Seminars and modules should be separately bookable and payable online.
Costumer and invoice management takes place online by the company employees.
Different analysis and evaluation forms give an overview about the number of participants, booked modules and turnover.
Participants should have, depending on booked and completed courses, access to download course materials.
The whole administrative system should be created as complete as possible with existing Drupal modules such as CCK and Views to avoid expensive adjustments after software updates.
